it's raining

Tragedy falls like
rain
a drop for a forgotten birthday
a drop for a taunting mirror
a drop for what he said. What he did.

It's pouring and I
am drenched but how
can you explain the rainstorm by
each 
and
every
individual 
drop?

So I just say
I'm tired
drop
I'm tired
drop
I'm tired
drop

It rains 27 inches in 
Portland
every year
and only 17
inches in Alpine. 

So please tell me why
in a place that people 
pray
drop
attend church
drop
serve
drop 
so much more than a place 
like Portland
how there are more
drops
that
don't
ever
seem
to
stop
falling

I'm tired and its pouring outside
